So looking at the title of this fashion post, I know what you’re thinking … EXCITING. But seriously, however standard they might sound, white shirts are such a great staple for women, and especially for us moms, who are so frequently in need of a crisp, simple look in a jiffy. Personally, I love classic looks and have quite a few white shirts in my closet. I wear them with jeans, leggings, or the leather leggings you see below. White shirts make going from flats to heels, and from day-time to evening, a breeze. That’s the kind of versatility we moms count on.

How to Wear a White Shirt

I have a great pair of leather leggings, and love to match them with long sweaters, a simple tank top, or a dressier blouse. But the best combo I’ve found thus far is this Zara fitted white shirt with a zipper down the back. The length of the shirt is ideally suited to a fitted pant, and clean while offering a good silhouette.

Here I am before a night out with the hubs. We were headed to a school event and then out to dinner. Trying to look a bit more buttoned up for school, I decided to leave my short dresses behind and go for this more professional attire. The zipper kept things fun, as did the black studded mules.After snapping these pics in our building’s reliable lobby, we were off. Another night on the move as NYC parents. Our Middle Schoolers left to struggle through their homework on their own. Probably for the best. They need to figure it out, and we need to keep the magic alive, right?
