Little Black Dress with a Pop of Color

Hello mamas. At this point in my life, I’m moving away from trendy fashions. When staring at my closet, I often file back to classic, better quality items that have stood the test of time. When I do have time to shop, I subject potential new acquisitions to the questions: “will I be able to wear this in 5 years? In 10?”
That being said, it’s a fun pick me up to follow trends and have a spark of newness in what you wear — so it’s all a balancing act, right my friends?
Marc and I celebrated our 12th anniversary this summer in Barcelona and this Sandro Little Black Dress which I actually did buy this year on sale became the outfit of choice. The dress is classic, but has lines of stitching in the colors of the rainbow along the bottom, which provided a fun opportunity to look for a pair of colorful shoes. So I paired it with a new pair of red suede Sandro with plastic sides for a pop of color and funk. A friend loaned me her acrylic clutch. Something old, something new, something borrowed and something … well, black (sorry!), the only blue item being my phone!
Can you tell from my face how much I’m looking forward to a nice quiet dinner?
Since dinners out together are NOT happening right now, it’s fun to look back with fondness at a fun, romantic evening with my sweetie.
We chose a restaurant we had been to before, and sat outside in the garden talking about, you guessed it, the kids. Do you invariably talk about your kids on date night?
Thanks for reading and check back in next week for another fashion post.

You wear such beautiful clothes. The shoes really are cute with this dress! I need to have date night soon and dress up! I never dress up anymore!
