So, you’ve been invited to a holiday party? How exciting! You’ve booked the babysitter, painted on a fresh coat of nail polish, and you’re still stuck on what to wear. Sound familiar? Never fear! I’ve got your last-minute holiday outfit ideas for getting totally chic this week. Who says moms can’t be with the winter fashion trends? Here are five classy outfits and inspiration for your upcoming holiday party in this week’s Mom Fashion post!
1. LBD – You really can’t go wrong with this fashion classic. As Karl Lagerfeld once famously said, “One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a little black dress.” Maybe I’ll pull this little black dress out from the back of my closet for an upcoming event! It served me well at my 12th anniversary dinner with my hubby, Marc. Spice up your own LBD for the holidays with a bold statement necklace, red clutch, or colorful pumps. 2. Sparkle it up – Bring on the bling, mama! For a bold and flirty look, go with a sequined top or skirt, or dazzle with sparkled shoes or clutch. I love this ensemble, with its flirty splashes of red for the pops of color! You can never go wrong with red during the holiday season. And the blazer really ties the whole thing together with a classy touch.
3. Comfy Chic – So, you’re headed to a laid-back party with your girlfriends but you still want to look put together. Try going all black and adding a pop of matching color in your shoes and cardigan. I absolutely love this ensemble, which includes a simple black tank top, black skinny jeans (though I would wear jeans without holes in the knees), burgundy pumps, and a slouchy cardigan in the same color. Match it with any black handbag and you’re good to go!
4. Toasty warm – On the coldest of nights, go for a warmer alternative in the adorable sweater dress! I love how this chic style can be paired with almost anything. Choose between high and low boots, a leather jacket, any type of scarf, and a handbag of your choice. Click here for more outfit inspiration!
I hope these holiday outfit ideas have helped! Personally, when I shop, I keep it simple and like to ask myself if what I’m buying will still be good in ten years. So it’s great to have the basics, like a little black dress, plain blazer, and sweater dress. The real fun comes with being creative with accessories! How do you plan your festive holiday outfits? I’d love to hear from you in the comments!
