Hello friends.  With it being over 100 degrees and all, a chic summer jacket probably does not rank top of mind in what to wear this summer.  Yet even if you’re sweltering during the day, a summer jacket is a great wardrobe element for a mom.  Since most of us live in and out of air conditioning, you often need something to pull on over your tank or short sleeves.  For movies with the kids, or a dinner out with the hubs, or the office, you’ll need to cover your arms if you’re not eating outside.

I found this jacket last year at Karen Millen, one of my favorite designers, and I have probably worn it too much because it’s so versatile.  Walking by the store, I saw the sign Karen Millen jacket sale, and I knew I just had to step in.  I’m so glad I did.  That was 2014, we’re now in summer 2015, but the jacket has stood the test of time.  It looks nice over skirts, dresses, or jeans.  The lace paired with the jersey material makes for a dressy look that’s casual enough for day and dressy enough for night no matter what the occasion.

Last week, I wore it out to lunch with the sweets, aka CloudMom’s in house photographer.

We ate at a lovely place around the corner that offers a prix fixe for 20 euros, love that.  We splurged on a glass of wine and had a nice, relaxing time together before rushing to pick up the kids.  Since we were seated inside in the air conditioned area, I was psyched to have my summer jacket which kept me nice and comfy, not too hot, not too cold (think Goldilocks!)

The lunch now sits as a gorgeous memory, and the summer jacket falls at the front of my closet as something I’m so happy I invested in.Thanks for reading my fashion post, and check back next week for more.
