Fall Outfit Ideas

Fall always throws me for a loop in the fashion department. Early fall never proves to be as chilly as I remember from growing up in the Northeast. Put on jeans and you risk being sweaty; a long-sleeved shirt that seems like a great idea quickly seems too hot! A good trick is to pair short-sleeved summer dresses with fun shoes and thin jackets to prepare you for any temperature.
So I did last Saturday night when I stepped out with Marc for a glass of wine once our girls were in bed and our boys were settled in front of a home movie. A full-on date was not in the cards. You have to take what you can get in life and run … run before you can no longer get out of the house, that is.
To my favorite knit Karen Millen USA knit dress — normally something I wear in June or July — I added a cropped Sandro leather jacket, which is warm but thin, Stuart Weitzman stiletto sandals, and a fun kelly-green bag from a vintage store. There’s a Stuart Weitzman store right down the street from me here in NYC and I love popping in there to check out the styles and scout sales.
Leather Jacket Outfits
Leather jackets are so wearable! You can pair them with jeans, dresses, skirts, even yoga pants, and they add a little bit of modernity and fun to your look. If you’re asking yourself how to wear a leather jacket, my answer would be that there is no one way. Anything goes. That’s a good concept for any modern woman and particularly a mom.As we turned the corner, we stopped in front of a nice-looking apartment building to do the little CloudMom fashion shoot. All in a day’s work.
Walking down the street with these stilettos took longer than it would have in flat shoes. Walking home was nearly impossible. But we had an hour of desperately-needed fun. I felt happy to be out with my sweetie and to have another day of madness behind me.Focus on what you need to do as a mom but never forget to take care of yourself and have a bit of fun!
