Hello moms!  This morning, I celebrated my oldest son Hedley’s 11th birthday and the 40th of a dear friend!  The get-together for my friend Alex was a breakfast, so I needed to be up, dressed, and ready to go by 7am when the kid rush begins chez moi.  When the kids rolled in for breakfast, they looked at me quizzically and said “Mom, why are you all dressed up, where are you going?”  They assumed something was wrong.

What I loved about my outfit was how comfortable it was and easy to wear.

Having arrived 10 minutes early for the breakfast (that was a first!), I asked my friend Natalia, an amazing photographer, to shoot these photos of me at the restaurant where we had Alex’s birthday breakfast before the other gals arrived.  That’s why I’m sitting alone at the table — ha ha.  You have to just get it done, right mamas?…

I got the geometric print dress on sale a few weeks back on Karen Millen.com.  This Karen Millen dress is a comfortable stretchy, cool fabric, just as comfortable as wearing a pair of yoga pants.

My shoes were a score at DSW down the street and I’ve been getting a lot of compliments on them – love DSW shoes!  Unlike most dress sandals, since they have a solid heel, these black high heel sandals are comfortable enough to wear for most of the day.

MOST of the day, I say, because by now I am back home with my slippers on, writing this blog for you all!

So this spring/summer, consider a geometric print dress as an easy, quick solution.  Since the geometric print dress speaks for itself, the dress holds its own, rendering accessories unnecessary!  Gotta love that.
