My mother was born in Sweden too and we grew up with Swedish pancakes too. I think her recipe was similar to yours but included a touch of vanilla. We’d eat with butter, sugar or lingonberries. It was a special day when we got Swedish pancakes.

    Melissa Lawrence

That is so similar to my memories from growing up, going to ask about the vanilla when I see my Mom over Christmas!

    Thank you.

My favorite is french toast with hasbrowns and syrup. I love french toast, not the frozen kind. I don’t get to eat it as often as I would like because I don’t make it very well.

My favorite breakfast is hot biscuits with butter and white syrup (Karo syrup)

Mix the butter and syrup on a plate and stir it around till it mixed well and then scoop it up with your warm biscuts. It is so yummy!

Making French Toast this week with sourdough bread — I usually use Challah bread but they were all out at the supermarket, we’ll see how it goes!

    Melissa Lawrence

Sonya Morris — I made the French toast with sourdough bread rather than Challah and it DID NOT come out well – will be putting up the Challah bread recipe in January — Happy Holidays – Melissa

Bacon and pancakes with lots of syrup

    Melissa Lawrence

About to make bacon and pancakes right now!

    Melissa Lawrence

Hello fellow pancake makers! I made these this morning using LARGE rather than JUMBO eggs and I did in fact have to add about 1/4 cup flour, so make sure to add flour until your pancake sticks together and will flip over… A Merry Happy Day to everyone — we’ll be picking our winner on Jan 7. xoxoxo Melissa

I love Swedish pancakes, but, at Dottie’s True Blue Cafe I had some wonderful Blueberry Cornmeal Pancakes which were heavenly.

My favorite breakfast is not breakfast food at all. I am a firm believer you dont have to stick by society standards and eat only foods considered “breakfast” foods in the morning. As long as it is protein and healthy right? My favorite is hard boiled eggs, or deviled eggs though.

    Michelle P

Oh my goodness, I am about 2 years late to this party, but this is the best swedish pancake recipe I have ever tasted. Now I know why mine have never been thick enough. I wasn’t using enough eggs. Thank you for sharing this
