Baby Sleep Problems After Illness or Travel

There are all sorts of things that can throw off the sleeping routine for babies or toddlers. This includes everything from teething to developmental milestones, and topping the list are illness and travel. One sickness or vacation where your baby sleeps in your bed and suddenly she thinks that’s the new norm! That’s what happened to my colleague Katie, whose 20-month-old’s routine got thrown off by a bout with the stomach flu.

Toddler and infant sleep patterns are tricky, but you can get things back to “normal” by returning to your regular routine, being consistent, encouraging an early bedtime and making sure your baby has enough to eat and drink throughout the day.
