How Much Fiber During Pregnancy?

fiber during pregnancyFiber is a key part of your diet as a pregnant woman because it helps keep you regular, prevents you from developing intestinal problems, and serves other important health goals.  Watch my vlog for more on what I’ve learned during the course of my five pregnancies on fiber during pregnancy.

In this vlog, I explain the difference between soluble and insoluble fiber and give some examples of these different forms of fiber. These fiber-rich foods should be part of any woman’s nutrients during pregnancy so hopefully you like and eat them already.  Keep in mind that you’re aiming for between 20-30 grams of fiber daily when you are pregnant.

I ate a lot of raisin bran, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. It was the only way that I could go and avoid awful hemmoroids. I think my body doesn’t realize what it’s missing vitamin and nutrient wise until I’m really missing it and then I suffer. so I’ve made it a point to keep feeding myself right for that purpose only.

It’s good to have such good habits and make that the norm! Amanda, you pretty much eat exactly what I do!!

I ate vegetables and fruits but ultimately Metamucil was my saving grace. And absolutely loved lemons.
