These are my top picks for what items nursing moms need!

Nursing Bra: You’ll definitely want to have a few nursing bras on hand when you first have your baby. These breastfeeding bras are great because they are made with durable, stretchy fabric. Having four or so is recommended because they will be getting wet from all that nursing!

Nursing Pads: Whether or not you’re actually breastfeeding your baby, you’ll want to invest in some disposable nursing bra pads. Your milk will come in, you’ll get leaky breasts, and if you’re wearing that nice new shirt, you’re not going to be very happy. These will definitely help you out! In this show, you’ll learn more about nursing pads!

Nipple Cream: With all that feeding, your nipples are going to get cracked, bloody, and sore. Nipple cream can help soothe all of these symptoms! These are also safe enough for use when your baby is feeding on your nipples.

Breast pumping: Don’t be scared or intimidated by this machine, you’ll become a total pro at breast pumping in no time! They can be rented or bought, depending on your budget and lifestyle. You’ll also have to look into buying bottles, breast shields, and pumping bras.

Hope you enjoyed this video on breastfeeding basics! You might also like my videos here on using other breastfeeding equipment and breast pumping machines.

    hi Melissa!

do you recommend disposable nursing pads or washable and reusable nursing pads?

    Regards
    Swapna

    • Hi Swapna, I used the disposable Medela pads. However, there are some great washable and reusable organic pads on the market and I would definitely try those out too, great option and if you plan to breast feed for a long time, more economical. M
