Hello everyone.  Melissa here, back with another beachfront yoga post from one of my favorite brands, Onzie.  Onzie yoga wear works great for Bikram yoga but also for Vinyassa, Ashtanga, or whatever other type of yoga you might choose to practice.  Their outfits are light, comfortable, and vibrant, providing a little splash to your day!

Exercise clothing is a great opportunity to shake things up when it comes to your wardrobe. You might dare to wear some colors and patterns that you wouldn’t consider for your day-time attire.  I love pulling on funky, patterned pants and cute bra tops. Along those lines, today’s outfit pairs a simple black bra top with some funky navy and white long pants with varying patterns.  (There’s more to the bra top, as you’ll see below…).

I love to explain some of the basic Bikram yoga poses in these posts (Bikram being my new obsession), so here goes.  This pose which occurs during the initial standing series of Bikram yoga is called the Eagle pose. In the Eagle pose, you swing one arm under the other, holding it in front of you in prayer, and then swing the opposite leg over the other.  The pose strengthens and stretches the thighs, hips, shoulders, and upper back.

You’re supposed to keep sucking your belly in during all these Bikram poses and you can see me here attempting exactly this!

Here’s the view from the front.  I did Bikram today and the instructor reminded me to keep my back straight while bending forward, bringing my hands towards my legs.  Balancing on a mat is tough enough and taking this to the beach proved pretty tricky!  

Back to the outfit!  See here how the bra top appears across the back in a pretty design that’s simple yet elegant.

Onzie provides clothes for after yoga also.  This wide-cut black top provided the perfect cover for my pale skin after a bit of time in the sun!  It’s transparent and light enough to wear during exercise also.  I would venture to wear this out top at night with some jeans and boots and a dark bra underneath!  If you’re shy, you could pile on a cardigan on top. Go for it, gals!
