Hi here, funky mamas. Summer has officially hit Barcelona and I am trying to reckon with my still pasty legs in the already humid heat! Long dresses like this asymmetric one from Maje have been a blessing since they are cool and summery while providing needed cover for my legs!

Marc and I stepped out for dinner with a lovely Mexican couple last Friday and in typical style, I got ready in under five minutes. Kids were yelling, screaming and battling it out as we ran into the elevator. The elevator door closed before any of them could pop in and plead their case. That’s the way hit the eject button from the house and step out for a date night, right?

With my Maje dress, I popped on some gold studded DSW high heels and this casual, white crossbody purse, using the bag as a clutch. White is not so pretty for legs but smashing for a summer bag, right? The white bag brightened up the maroon of the dress and made this outfit speak summer.

Among the hot bag trends of 2019, white crossbodys are big. They are convenient, easy to wear for a day of touring or mommying, and look casual, young and fresh. I like the un-structured form of my white leather purse, which I actually bought at a consignment store in NYC (it is vintage Balenziaga). The pink-gold hardware echoed the gold of my shoes, and I threw on some gold and white bracelets to complete the look.

Can you tell my face is a bit oily since I didn’t even have time to apply make-up? No matter. We had a terrific dinner. Cava, wine and even a Bailey’s to top it all off. Sometimes you just need to kick back, relax and enjoy.
