When Your Child Inherits the Worst of You

Heredity can be a real pain! I recently brought my oldest child, Hedley, to the orthodontist for the first time and it ended up being a very disheartening parenting moment. We discovered that he doesn’t have some of his adult teeth growing in on the bottom, which is exactly what I experienced growing up.
It was hard for me to discover that my child inherited traits that I’ve never liked about myself.

My nephew inherited adult teeth not coming through as well from his father, my brother-in-law. Two of my children have sadly inherited the overcrowding I had in my mouth as a child and the 3rd will need orthodontic treatment too. Shame the orthodontist is sooooo expensive.
