Ultimate Baby Wearing

Hello everybody! Over the course of reviewing many carriers here on CloudMom, I’ve marveled at the vast benefits of baby wearing. Baby wearing supports closeness and encourages breastfeeding, which is so dependent on a mom’s physical proximity to her baby. It’s affordable, since most carriers cost far less than a stroller. And it’s practical for moms that are in and out of the car or on and off the bus and subway.
Calling all new mamas and papas. Enter our giveaway to win a $75 gift certificate to Lalabu for a Soothe Shirt for mom or a Dad Shirt for dad.
Despite all these baby wearing benefits, though, I do have to confess that I had a difficult time finding a carrier light and comfy enough for long-term wear. I tended to be a mercurial baby wearer, taking my baby in and out of her carrier and plopping her in and out of her stroller to get relief from the weight and extra fabric of my carrier.
Introducing the Lalabu Soothe Shirt. This all-in-one baby wearing shirt doubles as a nursing tank for mom and a cozy carrying pouch for baby. It’s supportive enough to accommodate a baby weighing between 7-15 pounds yet light enough not to pose an additional burden on a fatigued mama or papa weary with the intense physical demands of a newborn’s life. Love that!
The Lalabu Soothe Shirt makes sense as a cozy pouch for baby and also as a nursing garment! To nurse your baby, remove your baby from the pouch using both hands, pull down the pouch and pull the nursing panel to the side. Your postpartum belly is nicely covered and your breast easy to access. So much easier than placing your baby down, removing the carrier entirely, and then putting the carrier back on when your nursing session is complete!
Since sadly, I am not in the newborn phase any longer (sniff!), I inserted my trusty model baby (let’s call her Emma today) and spent some time with the Lalabu Soothe Shirt. Marc took a double take worried that somehow I had conceived of and given birth to baby #6. Marielle (my youngest) started asking for a baby sister. If only …
Emma slid effortlessly into the Lalabu Soothe Shirt with her feet in the froggy-like positions (remember to position the knees over the feet) advised for newborn babies. She had access to her hands for sucking and the easy-to-tighten drawstring supported her little head. I couldn’t get over how a top so soft and comfortable for mama provided so much support for a baby. And from the back? No straps, no clips, no stuff of any sort. Think how versatile this top is for all seasons. During summer you can pair it with comfy capri leggings and during fall and winter, you can layer on a cardigan. You can skip the nursing bra too!
I’m so excited for one of you awesome new mamas or papas to be win one of these terrific shirts! Thanks so much for reading and check back in soon for more fun stuff on CloudMom.
Love,
Melissa
