Hi there, fashionista mamas. For fall, winter or spring, nothing beats booties. Booties — or women’s ankle boots — are the most flexible shoes as you can dress them up or down, wear them during the day or at night, or pop them on to suit jeans or dresses and skirts. I swear by them!

These booties are courtesy of DSW. There was one around the corner from me in NYC and I couldn’t help being tempted to enter as I walked down the street.

The rugged feel of these booties is balanced by the generous heel, but since the heel is thick, they are comfortable enough to wear during the day. I wore them here with a Club Monaco black turtleneck dress and to add a bit of color and interest, taupe-colored Hue tights. I have loved tights for my whole life and sampling different colors and patterns is a passion of mine. It’s also an easy way to spice up a black dress or skirt.
