Hello everyone and welcome back to CloudMom. Hope that all of you are well and safe and peacefully with loved ones during this difficult time.
Having viewers’ questions to answer is giving me some much-needed adult time and intellectual stimulation during some packed days as I oversee five kids with their homeschool program!
Can You Get Pregnant while Breastfeeding?
A pregnant mom wrote in concerned about regaining her fertility while breastfeeding. When her baby was six months old, her periods resumed. Yet now, a year later, she has had trouble getting pregnant while breastfeeding and still has not conceived of baby number 2. Thus she asked me “how do I get pregnant while breastfeeding?”
Since I did actually conceive of my four later babies while breastfeeding, I have some experience with this issue. After having done some research more closely related to this mama’s situation, I answer her in today’s new video. After giving birth, your body slowly begins the process of returning to a normal state of fertility. Nursing can act as a natural form of birth control. But most experts agree that breastfeeding affects your ability to become pregnant less after you have gotten your period, and less and less as time goes on. So for this mama, getting pregnant might not depend on breastfeeding and it might not be necessary to quit.

Stay well!
