Baby Nursery Ideas – Stage 2

Hi there, mamas and papas! As those of you who follow my YouTube channel or website know, I gave birth to my sixth baby Bracey just a wee bit early (!) at 30 weeks of gestation. This hit me by surprise, of course, and meant that while visiting Bracey at the NICU, I had to figure out how to get his nursery ready for his return.
Blackout Curtain Liners
In today’s video, I show off my new puddy colored walls and the two-fold blackout system I have been working on in Bracey’s room. To start, I have IKEA roll-down blackout shades in the windows. Over these, I have linen-style drapes (they’re not real linen but they look good) with a blackout liner. To me, this type of already-lined fabric makes for the best blackout window curtains since you don’t have to worry about having a separate liner, which can get a bit heavy looking. This blackout system should pretty much ensure that the room remains dark during day-time naps and in the early hours of the day, which I think is essential to getting your baby to sleep when you need them too. I used this blackout shades and liner system with all of my other five babies and swear by it.
I also share a decision regarding another newborn baby essential: which color fabric I’ve chosen for my breastfeeding glider aka nursing chair.
Enjoy, can’t wait to show you what’s next!
Melissa
