Outfit with Fur Vest

Hi there, fancy mamas. When you feel like dressing simple but desire a bit of creativity or pop, consider a faux fur vest. I picked up the one you see pictured here from Zara in 2012 (yup!) and have been wearing it consistently ever since. I wore it a lot in NYC during the late fall and early spring. In Barcelona, I’ve found that it’s the perfect outerwear for the northern Mediterranean mild winter.
What brand would you recommend for faux fur vests for women? Comment below!
I have a couple of faux fur vests, none of which were expensive, that I’ve worn consistently in prior years. I use a black faux fur vest over crisp white blouses, and a beige one over darker sweaters to lighten things up. I especially love fur vests with jeans; they’re a way to look dressy without actually dressing up!
Here you see me at my favorite lunch place, where I meet my good friend Sandra as often as I can. Since we’re both pretty busy, that usually means every two months. Our lunches give me the opportunity to get dressed up and feel like a real person since most of the time I work from home in my yoga clothes (sound familiar?).
I’m wearing a Joseph grey fitted dress that I purchased in my late 20’s when I was working as an entertainment lawyer in midtown Manhattan, and a black turtleneck from Club Monaco. On my feet, silver heeled boots from DSW.
The grey, white and black of this fur vest picks up on the grey dress and silver heels, so it integrates well color-wise while adding some personality and fun.
Practically speaking, this vest also keeps me cozy and warm. I hate being cold! Let me also add that vests like this are a nice solution for postpartum and breastfeeding moms since they allow you to throw on something that opens in the front and conceals your midline.
What sort of jackets, vests or sweaters do you opt for when it’s too hot for a full-on coat yet chilly enough to dictate more than just a shirt or blouse?
Thanks for reading and check back in soon for more fun content.
