Once in a while, you gotta through caution to the wind and find your crazy. I would describe myself as a fairly demure dresser. I never show cleavage (not that I have much!) and my idea of sexy is a nice pair of jeans and high-heeled boots. Perusing the Opening Ceremony sales in late January, though, one very sultry item caught my fancy: this lace, sequined long-sleeved black bodysuit. I decided to order it on a whim. I’m so glad I did!

Opening Ceremony’s long sleeve black bodysuit comes with lace and sequins and marries fancy and casual. Puffy sleeves sit atop a torso with a cut-out design to show more skin. It’s daring and risky, yes, but subtle enough for dinner with your parents.

I wore it for a very special occasion in late February, my friend Sandra’s birthday. Sandra has become a close friend since we moved to Barcelona. We see each other several times a week at the gym, and invariably end up in a conversation about life, work, kids and all the rest. She’s been so helpful to me here that frankly, I don’t know what I would have done without her. Joining me in celebrating Sandra were my polish pal Aleksandra, who has a smile on her face no matter the circumstances, and Patricia, a famous Migraine doctor whose schedule puts us all to shame. Despite the demands of her profession, Patricia is totally present when you speak to her and always trying to help you out with her sage advice. I’m so lucky to know these great women.

Several glasses of cava later, we returned home.
