Since we have so much family and friends in France and my kids speak French, I’ve taken them the past few years to a lovely ski village in the Alps. Along with amazing food and wine, this town boasts cobblestone streets, small creperies, a lovely old church and everything else you might envision in a small French village. Atop the mountain, the views of the Alps spread out and on a clear day, you can see far and wide. Here’s a happy mama enjoying a gorgeous day and so comfy in her new Obermeyer ski coat! Obermeyer has also been one of my favorite outerwear and ski brands so I was thrilled when they approached us.

I love ski clothes. Ski apparel provides a fun opportunity to get creative with colors you might not usually wear in your daily life. I doubt that in the midst of winter you’d see me with white pants and a light blue jacket, but such was this ensemble and I loved wearing it.

Obemeyer marries fashion and practicality and their coats are light and full of convenient pockets. You can’t have too many pockets when you see since you need them for chapstick, kleenex, your ski pass, sun block and your money… oh, and sometimes even a snack for the kids.

Anyway, so here I am in my light blue women’s ski jacket with white pants and my white helmet.

But now onto the real star of the day, Lachlan (9), sporting a bright blue ski coat with yellow piping and interior. Skiing with my girls boys has got to be one of my greatest pleasures! Lachlan was so happy and grateful for his new coat and wore it with a big smile under those huge goggles.Skiing is an amazing family sport. It’s something the whole family can do together, and provides good opportunities for chatting on the chair lift. If you have the opportunity to try skiing, definitely seize it. You won’t regret the time spent outdoors in the fresh air with your loved ones.
