Mom Fashion: Black and White Cropped Sweater

Hi everyone. Publishing this fashion post today is making me yearn for the days I spent with Marc in London earlier this month. Marc was there for a lawyer’s conference on free speech. One night, the group held a dinner at the Churchill War Rooms. It was chilly out and I wasn’t sure what to wear. I also was super jet- lagged.
Since I wasn’t sure whether the event was a cocktail type event or more casual, I went with black (always a safe bet) and a favorite Zara sweater, which has a white stiff collar atop a cream colored circular motif. I love this sweater and wear it a lot since it can be dressed up or down, perfect for the smart casual dress code I was going for! My fav 7 for All Mankind black jeans provided a dressy enough lower addition. Then, I added some black patent pumps which are high but which I actually can easily walk in. I would much rather go for a cute outfit I love and feel confident in than try to follow whatever happens to be the latest in fall fashion trends.
So here I am outside Churchill’s War Rooms. You can see the entrance to the right. Our tour guide explained that Churchill had his center of operations during World War II not far from the Prime Minister’s residence so that he could get there easily. It was covert and no one knew about it other than the people who worked there. A “bathroom” served as the room from which Churchill called Rosevelt — pretty cool!
After the brief fashion shoot by CloudMom’s in-house photographer, aka Marc my sweetie, it was time to go in for dinner. What an exciting evening and how different from what I’m looking at tonight: homework and backpack preparations!
Hope you enjoyed this little fashion post and check back in next week for more from my trip to London.
Love,
Melissa xo
