The holiday season is almost in full swing, and you are probably already brainstorming for gift ideas for your 10 year old song who loves everything to do with tools and construction. But if you’re looking at the Leatherman Children’s Multi-Tool for your older child, think again! It’s been recalled!
Spread the word!
The recall on the multi-tool was released yesterday due to a laceration hazard. This is caused by a faulty lock mechanism on the optional knife blade, allowing it to inadvertently release. Leatherman has sold 8,000 of these green, blue, or red multi-tools in the US and about 400 in Canada. The product combines needle nose and regular pliers, wire cutters, a wood saw, a ruler, tweezers, a bottle opener, scissors, and more in one. Although no injuries have been reported, the knife blade does pose a threat if it releases unexpectedly!
If your child owns one of these tools, do not install the optional knife blade or stop using the product if the knife has been installed. You may also contact Leatherman for a completely free replacement!
