Improve Reading Comprehension with Red Cat

This is a sponsored post.

As a mom of five, I’m the first to admit that my daily reading goals for my six year old often fall by the wayside. I’ll have a grand plan to read to Marielle for 20 minutes each day but lo and behold, one of my middle schoolers needs help studying for a quiz, someone else needs dinner, and someone else has stolen my husband’s charger. Our attention as parents is so easily diverted that oftentimes we aren’t able to spend time with our children reading the way we want to and should.

Reading IS a priority. Experts say it’s the number one key to your child’s academic success.
“Children are made readers on the laps of their parents." - Emilie Buchwald
When your child reads well, they follow and complete school assignments well. Reading also opens up worlds unknown and allows your child to develop her creativity. It is also said that good readers make great writers.

We welcomed this terrific reading system into our house earlier this Fall. Marielle loves having “her own library”. On her own, she is making her way through the worksheets and fun books. We have a system in place to practice reading and a happy child on her way to better reading comprehension. Amen.

It is a proven fact that when parents spend 20-30 minutes each night reading to their children, it expands their vocabulary by leaps and bounds. Plus I have always enjoyed the quality time together and holding my kids as we read stories.

  • rosannepm

I’ve read to my 4 children and now to my 5 grandchildren. They are all good students in school I believe because of their parents reading to them as well as their grandparents and their own reading once they learned how. Rosanne
