One of the hardest things about being a moms is figuring out how to manage to take care of yourself. With a new baby, your old beauty regime flies out the window and you’re scurrying to grab a quick shower if you’re lucky. With young kids, that trend can continue… but one remarkable mom I met at BlogHer this past summer is inspiring me to find new and creative ways to look and feel good! When I met Natalia, I was struck with her outer and inner beauty. She is such a sweet, supportive and lovely person and it shines through everything she does. I was thrilled when she agreed to guest post on CloudMom, and I can’t wait to follow the steps of this awesome tutorial. I’m going to be trying them out before filming my Vlogs! You should try them too! Read on for some great ways to feel pretty and fresh and for more on Natalia and her awesome blog, see below. Happy Weekend, my dearies! xo M
Beauty Tips for New Moms
Hi CloudMom readers! I am so happy to be here today!
My name is Natalia and I write over at Ma Nouvelle Mode. It’s a site about beauty, fashion, style, and travel but for the everyday woman! I am all about practical style where you can feel super cute & great about yourself without breaking the bank or making being a mom even harder.
So Melissa asked me to share with you guys something to make your life easier. I don’t know about you guys, but when I had my babies, I kind of fell off a little bit. I stopped taking care of myself like I used to, I didn’t wear makeup anymore let alone do my hair, and cute outfits? Fugettaboutit. This is really the reason I started my blog which means ‘my new style’ in French (which is a whole other story as to why it’s in French). I wanted to get myself back on track. I used to care about the way I looked. I used to do my hair. I used to get dressed up. Where was that girl?
Now that I’ve picked myself up out of that slump (for the most part – I still struggle!) I am out there to encourage busy, tired, amazing moms like you! All that’s to say, I am going to share with you how you can have your makeup done in 5 minutes flat. You’re welcome. 🙂
This is all you’ll need:
- Tinted lip moisturizer – Here’s my favorite & used in this post
- Blush – I used e.l.f. in this tutorial but I now use Smashbox. Both are great!
- Powder Foundation – Used Sephora here but love Bare Minerals
- Mascara – my all time fav – Voluminous
- Neutral shadow – I used Revlon & love this photo ready palette
- Eyeliner – This one’s great
Let’s get started!
I start with my eyes. I do this so that if/when the shadow falls below my eyes I can clean it up without messing up any foundation I have on. So start with a base of a cream color. Do this all over the lid up to the brow. Next get a neutral brown color and a curved crease brush like this one. If you need more blending, just go over the lid & brow bone with the other flat brush & cream color.
Then you add the eye liner & mascara. For the eye liner, I smudge it in as close as I can get to the eye lashes and in between to make it look natural. Also, using brown is a good idea so it doesn’t look so harsh.
Then you add the foundation! I use either a Sephora powder with a big brush like shown above or a Bare Minerals powder & theirs comes with a brush. This way it’s really light but you still get great coverage. Add a little blush/bronzer (here’s my favorite) to your cheeks and your done with your foundation!!
Then show some of the tinted lip balm on and you’re good to go! Didn’t I say that was easy? That can totally be done in about 5-10 minutes.
So what do you think? Is this something that would help you out in the mornings? I sure hope so! If you’re more visual & would like to see this done on video, watch the video above! And if you like it, there’s lots more where that came from! You can find me on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, & Instagram! Give me a shout out, I’d love to connect!
