Hi there, fashionista mamas. For me, fashion is all about how you put things together and it’s fun to play opposites off of each other. For a recent dinner with the hubs at a Barcelona local restaurant, I paired a black pair of Madewell ripped jeans with a buttoned up, lace collared Maje blouse with a black tie, going for modern on the bottom and traditional on the top! On my feet, you’ll note my fav booties from DSW.

There is nothing better for any married couple than getting out of the house, sitting down together, and catching up in a calm and relaxed atmosphere, which is why date night — or any sort of date — is just THE BEST. Last year, with five travel soccer teams practicing and playing outside of Manhattan, our weekends were basically shot and Marc and I were lucky to catch a glimpse of each other. This year life has slowed down remarkably. Our kids’ days start later, we’ve cut out many of the activities they previously engaged in, and their soccer games are within a 15-20 minute distance of our apartment. This means that as parents, we are less drained and have more energy for each other. Nothing in life or parenting is perfect, but these changes have all proven to be positive ones for us.

Since I spend my days in yoga clothes in front of the computer and running my kids around, I savor the opportunity to pick out something fancier, get gussied up, and hit the town. I wear a lot of dresses, but sometimes it’s so much more comfortable to wear jeans. I adore this pair of Madewell high-waisted, black skinny jeans with ripped knees. They are so soft and comfortable, and the thinness of the denim makes for a great pair of spring jeans that don’t get too hot.

Make Lace High Collar Blouse

Turning to the top, Maje always provides a new twist on a classic style. This soft cream-colored blouse with a lace collar and black neck tie recalls the past (reminding me of Dutch oil paintings with men and women in stiff white collars!) yet speaks to the present since it is soft, fitted and transparent. It hints at sexy without overdoing it. If you want play the sexy part up, try a black bra. If you want to play it down, throw on a blazer.
