Long Pleated Skirt

Hi there, fashionista mamas. Lately, I’ve been craving new things: new foods, new movies and books, new looks! We all tend to seek out what we know. This feels comfortable and it’s easy, especially when you’re busy with kids. But keeping things new and fresh is a key part of happiness and joy. And something so small as putting on a new skirt can change your entire day.
Case in point! During my lovely parents’ visit to Barcelona, I enjoyed a fun afternoon shopping with my Mom. We spotted this Sandro long pleated skirt and both tried it on. It looked great on my Mom but was not her thing. I put it aside, telling them saleslady I would think it over, and when it stuck in my mind, back I went. So happy that I did.
How Do you Wear a Long Pleated Skirt
When it comes to pleated skirt outfits, opt for a fitted top and short jacket. I would generally avoid longer jackets and coats. Keep the scale of your shoes narrow and light; by this I mean no heavy boots or sneakers (these look better with short shirts or jeans outfits). Those rules aside, go with anything with which you feel comfortable. I did not even notice the diamond print on this Sandro skirt, which is also peppered with tiny cowboy boots, until I saw this photo. So pretty, right? The skirt is a thin silk blend which means you can wear it during the spring or summer but the dark red and burgundy tones allow it to go year-round.
The little beige stripes on my shoes call out the beige stripes in the skirt, as does the gold chain on my cross-body bag. This is one of those outfits that worked so well I know I will come back to it many times.
What’s cooking for you mamas fashion-wise, of late? Comment below!
Cheers!
Melissa
