How to Wear Peasant Dresses

Hi there fashionista mamas. Spring is the perfect time for a long peasant dress, especially in NYC. Why? Well, since the weather remains iffy, long dresses provide a safe bet, and the casual, unstructured nature of a peasant dress allows for nearly anything (jacket, cardigan, scarf) to go on top for optional warmth.
What to Wear with a Peasant Dress
I’m a big fan of the Gap. At the Gap, you can find treasures there that will never leave your closet. I picked up this taupe colored leather jacket there nearly six years ago, and have had folks stop me on the street and ask me where I purchased it! Little do they know it was $50. Bingo!
This leather jacket features a soft fabric front that can be buttoned or left unbuttoned for an even more casual look.
When it comes to what shoes to wear with a peasant dress, try strapy sandals like these rose-gold gladiator sandals I picked up at DSW. For cooler climates, I would try a flat boot.
As I spend most days in front of my computer feeling kinda gross, I try to dress up when I can and have fun with it. Putting a cute outfit together lifts my spirits. I had fun with the colors of this outfit, matching the cream ruffle hem of the dress with my vintage Chloé purse and matching the gold motifs in the dress with my sandals. I then threw my hair back in a lose braid to complete the look.
The perfect outfit for a fun, early dinner with the hubs in advance of Mother’s Day. Thanks honey!
Have fun with it, mamas. Gussy up. Enjoy!
Love,
Melissa
