A big question when it comes to how to potty train is whether or not to use potty-training rewards or incentives — things like candy or small gifts — to encourage your toddler to poop or pee in the big potty.

Potty Training Success
I personally did not use rewards or incentives and instead used positive reinforcement, which worked well with my children! But many families do find that rewards can work with their kids. For instance, one friend would let her daughter pick out a barrette or other inexpensive trinket every time she did something in the potty. Every child is different so it’s really up to you to find what works best with your kiddie!

I have 10 kids, and I have used insentives when it came to potty training, I think it gave them motivation. Although I can’t take credit for potty training all my kids, this is what we did you on the ones that we did potty train and it worked. My Mom who potty trained the rest also used incetives.

We have a bol full of m&ms ready as a reward but its got to a point where he would rather not have an m&m and not pee or poop. Not sure what im going to do now as incentives dont work anymore …… Oh dear 🙁
