Carrying a Newborn in the Ergobaby Carrier

Hello moms and dads!  Welcome back to how-to Tuesday here at CloudMom!

In the market for a baby carrier? Today, I’ll be demonstrating the front carry position for newborn infants in the Ergobaby Carrier, one of the hottest carriers on the market!  Read on and watch my video for some great info!

Ergobaby Carrier Instructions and Review

The name Ergobaby suits this ergonomic carrier perfectly!  Now in its third generation, Ergobaby’s Original Collection baby carrier provides a comfortable carrier solution for baby from infant to toddler, and for his parents.  Designed to be used from birth with the Ergobaby Infant Insert, the Ergobaby can grow to accommodate an infant up to a toddler of 45 pounds.

Among other features, this carrier distributes weight evenly between parent’s shoulders and hips and also offers thick, adjustable straps and secure buckles.

Today, I’m showing how to carry an infant in the Ergobaby using the infant insert.  To make the Ergobaby fit for your newborn, you’ll need to use the Ergobaby Infant Insert (sold separately). This insert supports the baby’s entire spine, versus just the neck.  When your baby has enough neck strength, at around four or five months of age, the carrier can then be used without the insert. Although it’s on the expensive side, you’re definitely getting top-notch quality and technology in this carrier.

    Very informative and easy to follow instructions how to use this carrier. My baby is due any day now. We received an Ergobaby carrier from my middle sister, but I do need to purchase the infant insert. I saw some youtube videos of moms just using a blanket as a “hack” but I feel the baby is more secure with the carrier. It’ll give me peace of mind.
