How to Back Carry with the Boba 3G Carrier

Hello friends! Back today with baby carriers and a demo of how to back carry with a terrific carrier, the Boba 3G. This video comes as part of my series on the Boba, in which I’ve already demonstrated how to front carry and breastfeed with this particular carrier.
It’s very important to note that you should not be back carrying your baby until he or she has developed a good amount of head and neck control. When your baby is still young, less than a year old, most will recommend using only the front carrying position.
How to Back Carry in the Boba Carrier
Back carrying for the first time can be intimidating. But with the Boba, I’ve found it to be very easy and so secure! Before you even pick up your baby to place them in the carrier, you’ll need to securely attach your Boba to your upper hip area using the waistband and buckle. Make sure that you adjust the straps so that the carrier is sitting nice and tight. Then, you can place your baby in a squatting position along the side of your waist, to get the position of their legs just right and with his or her bottom below the level of their knees. This next part can look a little awkward, but you’ll want to bend over and move your baby along your back, while still supporting his bottom and neck. For me, it’s easiest to smooth the carrier over the baby at this point, in order to find the correct straps. Make sure that the side straps under your arms and in front of your chest are as tight as they can go. The dual-adjustable straps really help with this. At this point, your baby should be sitting up comfortably in the carrier, with his or her legs out and enough room to breathe.
In order to take your baby out of the back carrying position, you’ll want to first unbuckle the top straps, and keep your baby supported while removing the arm straps. Again, you’ll shimmy your baby back onto the side of your hip and once you’ve put them down safely, you can worry about unbuckling the rest of the carrier.
In the video, I also showed you how I put my own daughter, 2 and a half years old when I filmed this, into the back carrying position of the Boba! This carrier will serve you for years as it is perfect for both newborns AND toddlers! Again, thanks for watching!
