Good Date Night Catch-Up Ideas

Hi there mamas. With five kids aged 6-13, my husband and I don’t get out as much as we used to. Date nights run scarce and when they do come along, they have to be appreciated and nurtured.A viewer wrote in asking for my recommendations when it comes to preserving a happy marriage through the right type of conversational topics on date nights! Although I don’t consider myself an expert when it comes to relationship tips, I have learned from experience what topics to explore and avoid on date night. I dole out my date night conversation ideas for married couples in this week’s video.
Date Night Ideas for Married Couples
First off, avoid the “who does what” argument. You will never win this one. No matter that you work from 6:30am-11pm dealing with your kiddos’ busy lives and that your husband swoops in for 30 minutes at the end of the day, then taking a lot of credit (or my guy-friends, perhaps this is the other way around). Let it go. The idea on date night is to have fun, reconnect, appreciate each other, and remember why you fell in love in the first place. Cat fighting over who did more will get you nowhere. So leave this one at home.
Second, don’t get into whose family you will be visiting on the next major holiday. That’s a no-no.
Third, try starting off with a simple compliment like telling your partner that he looks nice! How’s that for a novel idea. The best thing to do on a date is to get along. I am serious. Throwing some good karma your partner’s way will go a long way in this regard.

Thanks so much for watching and see you next time on Cloudmom.
