Anube wrote in with the hardest question I’ve faced since I started the site. Tragically, he and his wife lost their first child in a car accident. Now pregnant with another baby, his wife is frantically worried about how her upcoming delivery and taking care of the new baby.
Anube, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Thank you for trusting me with your question and I hope the answers I lay out in today’s video can help. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your wife.
To start, I recommend that your wife seek out a highly competent doctor that can guide her and assuage her anxieties during this time. I also recommend that she check local listings for a new moms group to try to start to build a supportive community. Making a list of things for the nursery will help on a practical level and start to get her ready to nest. Your wife also needs to take perfect care of herself, watch her diet, and get plenty of fluids. For more of the details of what I recommend, watch my video.
