Geometric Print Dress

Hello, mamas and welcome back to another fashion post. There’s nothing like shopping your closet, right? I love holding onto my favorite pieces for years and coming back to them, getting an outfit that feels like new for free (ha!). This short, tight but oh-so-comfortable Diane von Furstenburg dress has been in my closet for nearly a decade. I’ve worn it during the winter with black tights and boots, and for summer, as you see here, with high-heeled black sandals.
Geometric Dress
Geometric designs are a fun way to spruce up your look if you’re resistant to color. I sometimes have a tendency to stick to black, white and cream when it comes to clothes. Sticking to these basics in solid prints can make your look a bit predictable. Geometric prints allow you to stay within those comfortable color zones while venturing out.
Here you see my outside Barcelona’s W Hotel. Marc’s business school class held a reunion there a few weeks back. We had just returned to Spain and I was struggling to get the kids back to school and our family on track. Dinners in Spain start LATE. This one offered cocktails at 8pm and dinner at 10pm. We arrived home at 1am and I needed to be up by 6:30am to get the kids ready for school. Not an average night for me.
Even though I was dragging the next day, the energy of the night keep me moving. It’s so rejuvenating to meet new people, go new places and do new things. When you’re raising kids, the “new” part tends to get erased because your commitments with the kids take over.
No matter how, where, or for how long, get the “new” back into your personal equation somehow. Novelty keeps us curious, passionate and excited about the world. We ALL need that so find a way to give it to yourself.
Thanks for reading.
Sending love from Barcelona!
