My advice for new moms on how to avoid feeling discouraged? Surround yourself with a community of acceptance – with moms supporting moms. If you’re stuck hearing about this woman’s child, you could always try changing the subject to another topic that all of you can contribute to. Also, even if you don’t say it out loud, think of all the things that make you very proud of your baby. You’re definitely going to see some rapid developmental changes in your baby that will make you very happy! And in the end, remember that this woman is not talking about your baby and words can’t break the unconditional love you have for your baby.
