Club Monaco Top and Skirt

Hi everyone and welcome back to our weekly fashion post. This week’s post takes place outside the Barcelona City History Museum, one of my kids’ favorite spots because it includes the remains of a Roman village. Stepping out of the museum, I fell in love with the Plaça del Rei and asked the Cloudmom in-house photographer (aka my sweetie Marc) so snap these pics. He was a bit tired, grumpy and worn out by the kids at the time, so I had to pull his arm. Thanks honey!
To me, summer fashion comes with the freedom to experiment with lighter, fresher colors and hopefully enjoy your bare legs. I was sort of worried about spending a day out touring with the kiddos dressed in white, yet somehow I avoided any major stains, most likely because in a rare move, we said no to ice cream cones. Sorry kids!
I rarely pull together cute skirt outfits since I always struggle with what blouse to pair with what skirt. For that reason, I usually opt for dresses which provide a one-step solution. When my talented friend Tamela, who currently is launching her own home decor and design business called Greenhouse NYC) recommended this adorable, full skirt from Club Monaco, I hopped online and snatched it up. Tamela has that eye and when she recommends something, it always works! Thanks Tamela!
Taking a gamble, I paired the skirt with this capped-sleeve, white eye-lit top. Although the ensemble makes for more white than I usually bargain for in my daily life as a mom, I went for it. Both top and bottom are light weight cotton and easy to wash, so what the heck.
On the bottom, I donned my favorite gladiator sandals from Stuart Weitzman. I do have to brag that I had the most fitting footwear among the visitors to this Roman museum! Plus these sandals are comfortable to boot!
Here are a just a few more pics. Note: by this point, Marc was D-O-N-E. Marriage is a compromise.
Thanks so much for reading.
