5 Best Nursing Chairs of 2023

Hi moms and dads! Having lived most of my life in urban areas, I’ve learned how to work with relatively small living spaces. Those of you in the suburbs may not have to worry about that, but one of the items I value the most, if budget or space constrains you, is a nursing chair. Even if you don’t have a dedicated nursery, a nursing chair gives you a space of your own and is convenient for breastfeeding.
What Is the Difference Between a Glider and a Rocking Chair?
When shopping for a nursing chair, you’ll generally see two options: gliders and rocking chairs. The difference between these is simple. A rocking chair has two curved bands at the base that allow for rocking, while a glider moves back and forth on a stationary base. I’d recommend trying them out in a store to see which suits your tastes better.
1. Stork Craft Premium Hoop Glider and Ottoman

$220
- Excellent value
- Comfortable and easy to put together
- A little on the smaller side
I’m starting off this round-up with a glider that’s an excellent buy for your money. The Stork Craft Premium Glider offers plenty of seating room, comfortable padded arm cushions with storage pockets, and enclosed ball bearings for a smooth gliding motion. Parents love it, finding it easy to put together, comfortable, and a good value. Some people find it a little small—take that into consideration if you’re six feet or taller.
2. Delta Children Middleton Upholstered Glider Swivel Rocker Chair

$269
- A great mid-range glider
- Sturdy frame and generous upholstering
- A little difficult to clean
The Delta Children Middleton is a great option if you’re looking for a more mid-range glider. This chair has a more traditional look to it, with its wingback style, rounded roll arms, and a brushed nickel nail head trim. Parents appreciate the sturdy frame and the ample upholstering that offer a comfortable seat for years to come. However, some find it difficult to clean.
3. Delta Children Emerson Upholstered Glider Swivel Rocker Chair

$349
- A great higher-end glider
- Diamond tufted pattern and contrasting welt trim
- Blends in easily in any room of the house
The Emerson is a higher-end option, also from Delta. On top of the wingback style and generous padding of the Middleton, this chair includes diamond tufted pattern and contrasting welt trim. Those little details make it blend in more seamlessly in other rooms of the house, making it something worth considering if you don’t have a dedicated nursery. Reviewers tend to find it easy to clean, too.
4. Baby Relax Hadley Microfiber Double Rocker

$360
- Great rocking chair for seating two
- Sturdy construction and reliable feet
- On the larger side
This one might be more rightly called a nursing couch! I’ve included the Baby Relax Hadley because it’s a double rocker, allowing you to keep a twin or an older sibling on the seat with you while you nurse. This one especially appealed to me as a mother of six. It has a sturdy construction and solid wood rocker feet, which parents confirm is very reliable. As long as you have the space for it, it’s a great choice for a bigger family!
5. Babyletto Kiwi Electronic Power Recliner and Swivel Glider

I’m finishing with a premium, high-tech option. The Babyletto Kiwi swivels 270 degrees and glides back and forth. Recalling a Dolby theater, this chair electronically reclines at the push of a button and has a built-in USB charger, which is a handy thing to have for checking your social media while you nurse! Parents are thoroughly impressed with the quality. If you can spare the extra dough, you won’t be disappointed.
