7 Best Baby Wipes of 2023

Hi there, mamas! Guess how many wipes a new baby goes through in just one year. (Hint, it’s over 10,000!) Stocking up on wipes is necessary, since you never want to be caught without some on hand, but don’t do it before your baby is born. I’ve found that buying wipes in bulk and saving them for baby was poor planning, as each baby has their own skin irritations and may not react in the same way to any one brand.
As you’re shopping for wipes, the factors you’ll want to bear in mind are price, ingredients, and environmental friendliness. Of course, you have a budget to keep, but using cheaper wipes sometimes means using more of them, so keep note of how many you’re using. As for ingredients, all baby wipes are nontoxic, but some are fragrance-free or made with all natural ingredients. Lastly, if you’re environmentally conscious, consider biodegradable wipes, or even reusable wipes (not covered here).
I’ve tried a lot of different baby wipes, so here’s my line-up of the best baby wipes and their features.
1. Best Baby Wipes Overall

WaterWipes Unscented Baby Wipes
$0.07/wipe
- Made of 99.9% water and 0.1% grapefruit seed extract
- Great for sensitive skin
Sensitive skin plagues so many babies, and the chemicals and preservatives in normal wipes can irritate their bottoms. Water Wipes have to be one of the most natural and simple wipes on the market, since they’re made of 99.9 percent water and 0.1 percent grapefruit seed extract.
Despite being composed of mostly water, these wipes did their job just fine. Durable, they maintain their shape and don’t scrunch up or thin down. They are oh-so-gentle. The dose of grapefruit seed extract works as a natural preservative, preventing mold growth.
2. Best Conventional Baby Wipes

Possibly the most popular baby wipes on the market, Huggies Natural Care wipes are well-known for being both reliable and affordable. These wipes are plant-based and comprised 99 percent of purified water. Though unscented, these diaper wipes are infused with aloe and Vitamin E for soothing the skin.
I and practically all parents love these wipes because they’re soft, strong, unscented, easy to pull from the package, and a good value. If you’re looking for a no-frills wipe, you’ve found it here.
3. Best Natural Baby Wipes

Pampers Natural Clean Wipes
$0.05/wipe
- All natural ingredients
- Reliable and less expensive than comparable wipes
Pampers Natural Clean are some of the best and most affordable wipes made of all natural ingredients. These wipes are thicker than the average wipe, making them more durable and efficient for wiping down baby’s bottom. A diaper changing veteran that’s been around for ages, the Pamper’s refillable tub allows you to grab a wipe one-handed.
Hypoallergenic and unscented, Pampers managed to market a natural, strong wipe that isn’t as pricey as other, strictly organic brands. Pampers wipes are soft to the touch, and one per change (unless you’re facing a copious diaper) is enough to leave baby clean and happy.
4. Best Vegan Baby Wipes

Aleva Naturals Bamboo Baby Wipes
$0.08/wipe
- Made entirely of bamboo
- Vegan and biodegradable
If you want organic wipes, but aren’t quite sold on paying organic prices, consider Aleva Naturals Bamboo wipes. These wipes are not only fairly priced, but vegan and composed 100 percent of bamboo – one of the most durable materials on earth. Still soft to the touch, these wipes contain no chemicals and are infused with various soothing ingredients like tea tree oil, green tea extract, and organic aloe vera.
As another super feature, these wipes combat the extreme waste caused by diapering. Aleva baby wipes biodegrade in just twenty-one days, compared to the hundreds of years your single average diaper or wipe will require to do the same. This means you can change diapers with a conscience as clean as your baby’s bottom!
5. Best Biodegradable Baby Wipes

Natracare Organic Cotton Baby Wipes
$0.15/wipe
- High-quality organic wipes
- Great for sensitive skin
- Biodegradable
Some of the highest-quality wipes on the market, Natracare organic baby wipes are 100 percent organic cotton. They’re infused with organic apricot oil, chamomile, and linden extract for soothing baby’s skin and leaving it smelling fresh. Natracare products are completely free of harmful and irritating chemicals like alcohol, bleach, and chlorine found in other wipes.
All of the ingredients in these wipes are plant-based, making them biodegradable. So they’re healthy for the environment and healthy for baby!
6. Best Organic Baby Wipes

Babyganics Unscented Baby Wipes
$0.05/wipe
- High-quality organic wipes
- Perfect for sensitive skin
- Less expensive than other organics
These Babyganics wipes are fantastic! They’re comprised of 100-percent plant-sourced ingredients, and they’re formulated free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, artificial dyes, and fragrances. That makes them 100 percent totally organic, and pretty much unbeatable for sensitive skin.
Parents love that these wipes are robust, soft, and on the larger side. Be careful when reading online reviews, because a bad batch a few years ago ruffled a lot of feathers. Babyganics has since addressed the issue.
7. Most Durable Organic Baby Wipes

The Honest Company Baby Wipes
$0.06/wipe
- Durable organic wipes
- Multi-purpose: dirty bottoms, messy fingers, sticky counters
Sometimes organic wipes sacrifice durability for the sake of being totally plant-derived. While the organics wipes featured here work great for cleaning your baby, the Honest Company Baby Wipes take it a step further. While still being organic, these are robust enough to handle anything from diaper changes, to messy fingers, to a sticky countertop. They’re a little pricier than competitors, but parents love how thick they are.
