Hello everyone!
Hope your week has been great. I can’t believe we are settled into the school year and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday. I cherish the low-key time with my siblings and their kids, my parents and Marc’s Mom, and our own kids since even though we live under the same roof, we constantly are racing to and fro at a frantic pace.
In order to get the kids excited, I’ve been on the hunt for some fun crafts to do at home, the caveat being that I am not the Queen of crafts and don’t do well with complicated multi-step instructions!! So with all that said, below please find 5 easy DIY activities to do with kids for Thanksgiving.
If you have other ideas, please share them below! Here are some easy DIY activities to do with kids this holiday season!
Thanksgiving Activities for Kids
1. Turkey Cups
These adorable turkeys can hold so many things, from little candies to your child’s favorite drink! All you need is a clear plastic cup, some cut-out construction paper feathers is orange and red, and googly eyes and brown construction paper for the head. For extra creativity, have your children write down what they are thankful for on the “feathers”. I have a feeling my youngest, Marielle, will love drinking her favorite fruit juice or chocolate milk out of these, and my boys will probably use them for trail mix or as a pen and pencil holder!

2. Thankfulness Jar
This is a great way to get the whole family involved! Have your children as well as you and your spouse write on a slip of paper the things you are thankful for. Place them into a clear jar and read them out loud at Thanksgiving dinner! To expand on the project, let your kids decorate the jar beforehand with stickers, pompoms, or paint. I know it’s not Thanksgiving yet, but this year I am so so thankful for my five wonderful kids and loving hubby, as well as my job as a mommy blogger! I love doing what I love and sharing it with all of you on my YouTube channel and site!

3. Thanksgiving Handprint Art
Who says finger painting is only for kids? This is another Thanksgiving craft that even adults can get involved in! You’ll need a large piece of canvas or strong paper and finger paint. Let each child paint their hands how they want and have them create cute turkey handprint art! After each family member has created their “turkey”, write in the things you are thankful for this year around the handprints to make it extra special! I can’t wait to make this a yearly tradition and literally see how much my kids are growing each year!

4. Thanksgiving Place Mat
What’s a better way to celebrate Thanksgiving than a unique place mat for each child before the big meal? Provide each child with crayons, markers, or paint and let their imagination run wild! Laminate the place mat and they can be reused for years to come. Perfect for a mom of five kids like myself since it seems like nothing stays on their plate. These place mats are going to save my tablecloth this year!

5. Mini Cornucopias
Not all Thanksgiving crafts for kids have to be made with glue and construction paper! For these adorable Thanksgiving table centerpieces, all you’ll need are waffle cones and some fresh fruit. Let your children choose their favorite types of fruit to fill up the “cornucopia”. These are healthy Thanksgiving snacks that you can feel good about as a parent! As a mom who tries her best to encourage healthy eating even during the holidays, this is a must on my Thanksgiving to-do list!
